happy be romantic with someone and wine day

Today is the day where you either have someone to share a bottle of wine with, or pop the cork and throw a straw in it. So I’m sitting at a convention with my boyfriend in the lovely but freezing cold Charlotte, NC on my Valentine’s Day, day dreaming about champagne. To me Valentine’s Day= love and love=champagne, a mimosa, a French 75, a Bellini, or just even a good old glass of just the regular champs. Today though Patrick and I are literally and figuratively on the fly so we are going to have to suffice for some in-flight cheapy champs. I know you men though and your last minute shopping issues, I want to help you find something good to spoil your women with. Also for my independent women who don’t need a man in your life to spoil yourself with some a classy champagne and like I said earlier pop that cork and put a straw in it! So everyone go out and TREAT YO SELF, happy mushy gushy love day.

From left to right, also from less expensive to big dollars; Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut 49.99, Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut 49.99, Moet & Chandon Imperial Rose 59.99, Veuve Clicquot Rose 65.99,  Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Brut 165.99, Dom Perignon  169.99, Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoue 179.99, Armand de brignac brut gold (ace of spades) 299.99

And here is a recipe for on of my favorite champagne cocktails, The French 75. It is defintily a “pinky’s up” cocktail. Make sure to serve in one of those fancy coupe gatsby glasses:

  • 1 oz gin ( I prefer Hendricks or Brokers)
  • .5 oz fresh lemon juice
  • .5 simple syrup
  • 3 oz champagne

Add ingredients into a shaker NOT THE CHAMPAGNE everything else, shake it up real good, strain and pour into glass, top with the champagne and your ready to drink

xoxo your favorite wino
